Mount Longonot hiking safari is a perfect getaway for hikers seeking a moderate fitness challenge while still having fun and adventure out in the wild. As a popular hangout for hikers, you are likely to encounter other like-minds, so, likely, you'll not be a loner out there. Basically, there are two hiking levels- one is more challenging and takes an average of 4-6 hours to complete. This route loops you around for 13.5 kilometers and is guaranteed to take you all the way up to the crater lake. The second, less strenuous route takes you on a 7.2-kilometer hike, lasting 3 to 4 hours round trip.
Both climbs need some physical fitness, especially since oxygen density becomes less and less as you climb higher.
You'll need to carry ample drinking water (in a non-disposable water bottle since plastic water bottles are prohibited). You may also carry some snacks like fruits-you never know when hunger strikes!
Depending on prevailing weather, dress in appropriate hiking gear such as gloves, light boots, and a light backpack. We recommend taking on a hiking guide for all our hikers.
We provide round transport from Nairobi in a comfortable safari vehicle with recliner seats, lunch, drinking water on-board, and drop-off to your hotel or residence in Nairobi. Park entry fees are catered for in this safari's cost. We'll get a hiking guide for you.
We have not included personal effects such as hiking gear in this safari's cost.
